Hola, Buesnos Tardes!!

Well I am at my halfway point today! It doesn´t feel like it! I can´t believe how fast time is flying! I am trying to remember what all we have done since my last post! I shared my tstimony last Thursday at the hospital and it was amazing! I was very nervous at first, but as soon as I started, the Lord just gave me peace! We had 3 languages going (English, Spanish and Quechua). I just pray that the Lord uses that time for His glory! We had a quiet weekend at the house. Saturday, we went to kid washing in the plaza! I can´t even begin to tell you the emotions I experienced while serving there! It was different than the dump! If that is even possible! I am learning so much and I only pray that the Lord will continue to teach me! By His grace, I have spent more time in the word than I have in a long time! It´s great!!! It has been pretty slow at the hospital! I have been observing the doctors and learning a lot. I have seen some interesting things. I´ll tell you about that when I get back! I did see an interesting case in the ER today! There was a guy who came in Saturday who was severly burned! He was playing with gasoline and he caught on fire! His whole back was burned, part of his chest and his left arm! It was hard to watch them change his dressings. I got to assist a little, but it was hard. I tried to stay out of the way! He looked to be in a lot of pain.
On a happier note, I have been spending a lot of time at Hogar de Amor (which is a baby orphanage) There are 12 kids there and 6 of them don´t walk yet! The oldest children are 3. They are so much fun, even though I don´t understand them! :)
This weekend we going to try and plan a trip to the jungle! I don´t know for sure if we are going, but it is going to be exciting. I will probably have to start malaria pills. I am afraid of that because malaria pills tend to enhance dreams and I have been having some bad dreams already!
On Monday, we are going to the compo(the country) for a couple of days to see patients. We will be there for two days with just the clothes on our back. We are only bringing medical supplies and we are gonna see as many patients as we can in two days. I will be giving injections! The leader said possibly 300 in the time we are there! That is a lot! Be praying for our time there! That we can bring God glory in our service!!!! Well I think that is about all I can remember for now! I miss you all and wish you all could be here to experience it along side me!! I love you all! I will see you soon!

Growing in Christ,
Colleen

Colleen! What an awesome adventure you are having! It sounds like a movie! I'm so glad you were able to share you're testimony with the people...what a blessing! I'll be praying for you these next three weeks. Time certainly has flown by. Are you and your team members well stocked with medical supplies? Do you need us to send you something? I'm so excited for you! What an awesome God we serve! Praise Him for this time!

Hey Colleen
Wow. Just reading your blog is humbling. I can only imagine what you are feeling there. I have been praying for you and what God is doing for His glory through you. I'm so excited that you were able to share your testimony and our Lord blessed you with peace about it. I guess the medical profession will never look the same to you, and especially after your trip to the compo. I will be praying about your dreams that you can have peaceful sleep to be more energized for His work during the day and also that you don't meet an anaconda in the jungle. Yikes! The Jungle!!! I think I would stick to the paved (or dirt) road. Remember we all love you and are praying for you.

For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 1 John 3:11

Can't wait to hear more stories.
Reconciled and grateful,
Meliss

Care Bear::

Just wanted to say hi and let you know that we are thinking about you today and praying for you and your trip. I was telling Paddie about the malaria pills as I have heard that some people have trouble with side effects while taking them, and I pray you have no problems. Have you filled your memory card up yet??? If not, I hope you can take some pics of the Jungle trip--that sounds so exciting. Praise God you are so skilled at giving shots! I know you are going to be able to fill your role on the trip perfectly!! It is hard to believe that you only have 3 weeks left...I know you are going to be so different when you come back! Of course you will always be one of our favorite people on the planet no matter where on Earth you are!! Sending a big "Bear" hug ~P&L

Hey Colleen,
It is great that you are getting to experience so many different things. Keep taking advantage of every opportunity and we pray that God would give you the strength through it all. About the malaria meds., we will pray that God would guard your mind each day. I had more wierd dreams being pregnant than I did taking malaria medicine for 2 months. Have fun in the jungle and swing from the trees:)
Take care,
Heather

Hey girl!!!
Guess what? Today I baptized Ashlyn! It was awesome watch my little precious baby and the joy she was experiencing in believer's baptism. I can't describe it. Sooooo ....Why the kids at the plaza bathing versus the emotions of bathing the kids at the dump?

Hope you get to go on your jungle safari and I'll be praying that you don't have funky "skeleton key" dreams. I knew that God was going to bless you in sharing your faith while in Bolivia (it was one of the major things that He obviously had planned for you down there. I think it would be awesome if you could share with one of the older of the kids at the orphanage. Let me know how it goes.

Oh yeah, remember I'm still on the "don't tell me anything gross or medical" list when you get back home.

I don't know if I buy into the whole angle of "we're closer to the stars" thing. We'll have to debate whether that makes a difference or not when you get back home.

And.....I interviewed Bob and Donna friday for ECS. Everything went great and I think they are as fired up as ever to send big K to school there. God has really been blessing us with the families here recently so keep praying strong that we will finish strong with enrollment as we approach the first day of school.

Traci and the girls say hello and the girls miss you like crazy.

Oh, and have fun stabbing people -all 300 of em.
